Throughout the seasons, our community farm flourishes with fresh produce and traditional medicines, grown with care and respect for the land.
Our harvest includes:
Vegetables – Squash, lettuce, cucumbers, and more
Traditional Medicines – Sage, tobacco, sweetgrass
Orchard Fruits – Apples, pears, plums, and cherries
Each plant nurtured at Oshkiigmong Gitigan carries the spirit of sustainability and self-sufficiency, providing nourishment for our community and supporting local food security initiatives.
At the heart of our farm is a commitment to education and cultural preservation. Through hands-on workshops, seasonal events, and interactive programs, we teach the importance of traditional medicines, Indigenous agriculture, and environmental stewardship.
One of our newest initiatives, the sorghum maze, offers an engaging way to learn about Anishinaabe agricultural practices while enjoying a fun, family-friendly experience.
Our partnership with Trent University allows students and faculty to participate in farm activities, strengthening the connection between academia and Indigenous land-based learning
